READERS will also find this interesting (and they can *see below how they may help), but …

This post is mainly for all you angst-ridden authors out there who moan and groan about how little promotion and publicity you receive for the books you publish. Yes, it’s true, there are definitely fewer outlets reviewing books or interviewing authors. So what are we supposed to do to get the word out and attract new readers to our work?

I have a cunning plan!

When I ePublished my first novel, I received “some” attention (i.e. Not a lot …) for my efforts, but I carried on regardless and continued to promote other authors, as well as my own books, through my business Alberta Books Canada. Then I moved back to the Caribbean and become much more involved in the online writing community, especially with regards to indie authors around the world who…

I Have A Dream …

Harmony Kent's avatarStory Empire

Hi folks, Harmony here. It’s great to see you today. And, today being Martin Luther King Day, what better topic to talk about than the power of the pen?

From the beat of a pen to the beat of a heart. One pen, one essay, one speech, one book, can change the world. The pen is the tongue of the mind. With it, we can achieve great things. As did Martin Luther King. Perhaps his best known speech is his ‘I have a dream’, in which he declared, ‘… today … will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.’ And it most certainly did.

At many points throughout a lifetime, we will go in search of words. Perhaps to mourn a death, cele01-pen-walkingbrate a birth or a union, or maybe to offer a heartfelt thanks. Sometimes, these words come…

christianboustead's avatarfindbooksinside

the second of the November Snow books by AM Manay
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BQGGBMW/ref=pe_1572281_66412651_cm_rv_eml_rv0_dp
is a great book and may even better than the first book She Dies at the End.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0112S00KI/ref=series_dp_aw_ca_1
it certainly adds layers to already well drawn characters. it also gives November problems with feeding! however, i have problems with her new power particulary that it does not drain her enough and this is why i give it three stars!

Making sense of life: putting your memoir in poetic discourse (writing prompt)

Maja Todorovic's avatarBusiness in Rhyme

Dent Blanche im Nebel, 4000er im Kanton Wallis, Schweiz. Alps of Switzerland

Following this post published few weeks ago, it occurred to me: there is always something we haven’t told yet. A story, an event or memory that we shy from for some reason, that we avoid thinking about, talking about. And I don’t mean talking to others, but to ourselves. That internal conversation (or lack of it), has a subtle impact on our day to day life governing our decisions and choices in ways we are not even aware of. Our subconsciousness is like a vast ocean where we can drown deep with our feelings or we can strive for the surface to enjoy the sun and blue sky.

Each emotion and memory from the past has hidden opportunity for growth and healing. And these are the main reasons why people engage in writing memoirs. It’s a path of self-exploration, where time, the main ingredient offers different perspectives and lays a…

Albatross

Maja Todorovic's avatarBusiness in Rhyme

Grey marble dissipates in the sky,
With stoned shadows, astoundingly monolithic
Stack of matches pretends to be a bridge
One that will burn itself, in time, in song.

My neck is giraffic periscope thriving to the sky
In a minute an eyeball, in a second a curled hedgehog
Leaning like a head on the door.

So close to me, you are so close to me.

Whisper you can’t catch, it only comes to the privileged.
Soft, yearning and albatross of wind stuck in my hair
Thinner than paper cut but red and burning just as
Blood skirting of its edges.

My name searches for meaning among other women
Who knew of their existence
Probability was lost in the variety of choices,
Misled by a reckless afternoon.

As I drink this butterfly offered to me so many times
I won’t choke. A siren of lust is not forgotten, just postponed
For…
